DHL Supply Chain, Stream BioEnergy and Tesco Ireland
Fifty biomethane trucks serving Tesco Ireland, fuelled from an anaerobic digestion facility in Cork.

The project
DHL Supply Chain runs distribution for Tesco Ireland. Stream BioEnergy built the anaerobic digestion capacity in Cork. The question was whether a fleet of that size could run on biomethane produced in Ireland, and what it would take.
What we did
VisionGreen worked on the business case and facilitated the transition, drawing on our founders' background in supply chain and logistics.
This is the work the company was built on. Our first project, before any of the energy monitoring side existed, was a food-waste-to-anaerobic-digestion circular project with Tesco Ireland.
Where it went
The project is the largest private transport emissions reduction programme delivered in Ireland to date.

An SEAI-funded energy audit is the usual first step, and the grant covers most of the cost.
